Study on Preparation and Performance of Electrochromic Mesoporous Tungsten Trioxide Films

The preparation of mesoporous WO3 films was carried out by involving of a new nonionic gemini surfactant structure-directing agent. The mesostructured WO3 films exhibit tridimensional vermicular mesopores, as demonstrated by SAXRD, TEM and N2 sorption techniques. Compared with the non-templated analogue, the mesoporous tungsten trioxide films possess large specific surface area, along with improved electrochemical and electrochromic performances, whose transmittance modulation reached over 60% and coloration efficiency was up to 51.7 cm2•C-1 at the wavelength of 633 nm.
