Synthesis and Electroluminescent Properties of Red Dopant with High Color Purity

A red electroluminescent material DADIN with a high color purity was prepared from 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran as its electron-acceptor and indoline unit as its electron-donor. With respect to the Kodak’s traditional red dopant of DCJTB, it was proved that the synthesis and purification procedures of DADIN were simple, and the yield was high. In addition, the electroluminescent device based on DADIN as doping emitter has 1.5 times of current efficiency as DCJTB with high color saturation, indicative of a promising red emitting alternate to DCJTB.
