Synthesis of 1,3,4-Oxadiazole Derivatives for Organic Electro- transporting Electroluminesent Materials

1,3,4-Oxadiazole derivatives (5) were prepared from hydrazide (3) , which were converted with acylchlo-ride in pyridine into TV- substituted hydriazide (4), followed by treatment with phosphorus oxychloride. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by ~1H NMR, IR, MS and elemental analyses. These compounds represent potential organic electro-transporting electroluminesent (EL) materials.
