In the present communication, a modification of the combustion method for the microdetermination of carbon and hydrogen was described, in which the sample was covered with the thermal decomposition product of AgMnO₄₇ and the combustion tube was filled with the same reagent.By using this method, most of the organic compounds can be decomposed approximately in three minutes.
