The heat capacity of fenpropathrin of high purity (99.16%) was measured by using an automatic calorimeter in the temperature range between 80 and 400K. A solid-liquid phase transition was found for the compound in this temperature range. The temperature, the molar enthalpy and entropy of the fusion transition were determined to be (322.476^+~-0.012)K,(18.57^+~-0.29)kJ.mol^-^1 and (57.59^+~1.01)J.K^- ^1mol^-^1, respectvely. The thermodynamic functions of the compound were derived and reported at an interval of 5K.The thermal decomposition of the compound was investigated by thermogravimetric analytic technique. The temperature of the decomposition, the activation energy, the order and the frequency factor for the decomposition reaction were determined. The calorimetric determination of purityfor the compound was carried out with the same calorimeter.
