Total Synthesis of Natural Product (+)-2-(1-Hydroxyl-4-oxocyclohexyl)ethyl Caffeate as a Modulator of Leukotriene A4 Hydrolase

(+)-2-(1-Hydroxyl-4-oxocyclohexyl)ethyl caffeate (1), a new caffeate was first synthesized starting from 1,4-cyclohexanedione monoethyleneketal and caffeic acid through two different routes. The optimum synthetic route was determined, under which the final yield was 56%.
