Studies on thermochemistry of porphyrins: V. The standard energies of combustion and standard enthalpies of formation of bromoporphyrin compounds

By using a precision rotating-bomb combustion calorimeter, the standard energies of combustion of squalane, 4-bromobenzoic acid and tetra(p-bromophenyl)porphyrin at 298.15K were determine to be -46.7408 ?0.0117, -15.3774 ?0.0063 and -23.4038 ?0.0121 kJ g-1, resp. The corresponding standard enthalpies of formation at 298.15 K were calculated to be -864.7 ?6.4, -377.4 ?1.6 and 754.2 ?12.6 kJ mol-1.
