An investigation on phase diagram of ternary system NdCl3-BaCl2-LiCl

Abstract

The phase diagram of ternary system NdCl3-BaCl2-LiCl was investigated by means of DTA and x-ray diffraction anal. There are 5 surfaces corresponding to the primary crystallization of NdCl3, a-BaCl2, b-BaCl2, LiCl and Ba3NdCl9 resp., and 6 univariant lines related to the secondary crystallization in this system. A compound, formed in the solid state, was found. The temperature of decomposition is at 427癈.
