Investigation of single MoFe3S4 cubane-like cluster compounds IV: Synthesis and structure of novel doubly bridged single cubane-like cluster compound MoFe3S4(μ-Me2NCS2)4.2CH3CN

MoFe3S4(Me2NCS2)5.CH2Cl2 and MoFe3S4(Me2NCS2)6.2CH2Cl2 (I), which were separated by fractional crystallization I is triclinic, space group P1, a 12.060(3), b 12.064(4), c 19.595(5), a 83.10(2), b 84.93(2), g 66.59(2)? Z = 2, for 5183 reflections R = 0.069. I is a novel cluster [MoFe3S4]6+ and contains 2 Me2NCS2 bridges. The structural features are reported and the observation that several single cubane-like cluster compounds containing various oxidation states can coexist in an assembly system is discussed.
