Abstract

A new lignan, schisantherin F (I), was isolated from the roots of Kadsura sp. grown in Shennongjia district. Eleven derivatives of I are also reported. The structure of I, including its absolute configuration, was established by transformation into (-)-schisanhenol, the enantiomer of the known (+)-schisanhenol.
