Preparation and Application of the Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes Surface Benzoyl Peroxide Imprinted Composite Solid-Phase Extraction Materials

A novel surface imprinting material based on multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) was successfully synthesized with a precipitation polymerization method using benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as template, methacrylic acid (MAA) as the functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the cross-linker, 2, 2′-azobis-isobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator. The molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) based on the surface of MWNTs was characterized by IR and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The adsorption amount of benzoyl peroxide by MIPs was measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and equilibrium binding experiment. The results showed that a kind binding site is observed for the imprinted polymers to the benzoyl peroxide (BPO) with the maximum apparent binding constant 56.20µmol/g. By using as solid-phase extraction materials, the imprinted polymers extracted benzoyl peroxide from flour successfully with the concentration enrichment factor of 526.
