Previous and his coworkers (1944) have reported the preparation of 5-deosy-L-lysose benzylphenylhydrazone from L-fuconic amide by means of bVheerman reaction. Now, 5-deoxy-L-lpzoee itself has been synthesized by two differont mothods.
