The half wave potential of the thallous ion was determined at 25° in sodium perchlorate-sodium thiocyanate mixtures over the range of 0.05-2.0 M thiocyanate concentration at an ionic strength of 3.00. A modified type of H-cell was proposed in order to prevent the diffusion of chloride ions from the calomel electrode to the solution being investigated.
