Dithio-oxanude condensed with 1,3-dichloroacetone in acetone in the presence of precipitated calcium carbonate to form 4,4'-dichloromethyl-2,2'-dithiazolyl (I).It melted at 165°.The condensation between these two compounds was complicated by the formation of polymeric compound in case they were heated in ethanol at its boiling temperature.
