Study on Tabular SrTiO3 Processed by Molten Salt Synthesis Method

Tabular SrTiO3 crystals were synthesized by molten salt synthesis (MSS) method which included two steps: (1) synthesis of processing tabular precursor Sr3Ti2O7 particles in molten KCl; (2) tabular SrTiO3 crystal was obtained via the superposition of SrTiO3 basic cell on the interface of Sr3Ti2O7 particles based on the products of the first step. The conventional solid state reaction method was employed to synthesize SrTiO3 particles in the reaction condition of 1200℃ for 4 h. The microstructures of these reaction products were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD). The results showed that tabular SrTiO3, obtained by MSS, had high purity and obvious tabular structure as well. XRD pattern showed that the conventional reaction products were obviously ball particles of SrTiO3.
