Interactions between PEO chains and ZSM-5 fillers in PEO-LiClO4-ZSM5 composite electrolytes were studied by XRD, DSC, FT-IR, and SEM techniques. The experimental result shows that ZSM-5 can inhibit the recrystallinity of PEO and reduce its glass transition point at the same time, then enhancing the ionic conductivity of the composite electrolyte. When temperature is higher than the melting point of PEO, the enhancement of ionic conductivity can be attributed to the formation of special conducting pathway on the surface of ZSM-5 that is favorable to the transference of Li cations. Excellent electrochemical performances such as high ionic conductivity, and broad electrochemical stability window suggest that PEO-LiClO4-ZSM5 composite electrolyte can be used as electrolyte materials for all solid-state rechargeable lithium polymer batteries.
