Recent Advances of (Pseudo) Rotaxanes Constructed by Pillar[n]arenes

Pillar[n]arenes, as a new generation of macrocyclic host molecules, have attracted widely attention since their discovery in 2008. They have been applied in the field of molecule recognition, rotaxanes, supramolecular polymers, molecular springs, artificial transmembrane channels, vesicles, and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). In this review, the recent advances of (pseudo)rotaxanes constructed by pillar[n]arenes are reviewed. Meanwhile, the advances of poly(pseudo)rotaxanes based on pillar[n]arenes are also briefly summarized.
