A new alkaloid was obtained in 0.43% yield from the stem leaves of Chinese Aconitum, identified as A, delavaYi French.It is provisionally named delavaconitine, having the molcular formula, C₂₈ H₃₉O₅N·H₂O, m.p.59-64°, [α]_D¹⁷=-9.56°(ethanol, C=0.7%).1"he following crystalline salts have been prepared:(1) nitrate, C₂₈ H₃₉O₅N·HNO₃·H₂O, lusterous fine needles, m.p.154°;(2) perchlorate,C₂₈ H₃₉O₅N·HClO₄,cluster of prisms, m.p.241°;(3) picrolonate, H₃₉O₅N·C₁₀H₈N₄O₅,yellow prisms, m.p.218°;(4)chloroaurate, H₃₉O₅N·HAuCl₄, golden yellowish prismatic needles, m.p.215°.
