The reactions between t-butyl alcohol, t-amyl alcohol or benzyl alcohol with phosphorous pentasulfide above 80° gave butylene, amylene or dibenzyl sulfide exclusively instead of the corresponding 0, 0-dialkyldithiophosphoric acid.
