The "dead-stop end-point" method of Foulk and Bawdon has boon found very convenient for the simultaneous determination of antimony and arsenic without previous separation.Coric sulfate solution is used as titratant.Antimony is dotermined first in 6 M HCl solution at 0℃.At this temperature the Sb(Ⅲ)-sh(Ⅴ)system is reve}ible while Ae(Ⅲ)-As(V) not. Then the solution is adjasted to 4 M HCl and warmed to room tempratnre with the addition of ICl as catalyst to render the As(Ⅲ)-As(Ⅴ) system reversible and the titration Boos on until all anionic present is oxidized.
