A series of 3-(2',4'-dichlorophenoxy)ethyl aryl sulfonates was prepared by condensing (2',4-dichlorophenovy) ethanol with a number of aryl sulfonyl chlorides in carbon tetrachloride or ether in the presence of aqueous sodium hydroxide.
