The use of N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine in chloroform solution as extractant for microgram quantities of tungsten(Ⅵ) in strongly acid solution is advantageous.Besides tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium can also be extracted into the organic phase under similar conditions. The tungsten (and molybdenum too) in organic phase can be then determined with known methods.
