Besides a small amount of fumaric acid, 1.2% of total alkaloids were obtained fxom the seeds of the poisonous plant, Niu-er-fon, Daphniphyllum calycinum Benth.From the crude product three new alkaloids have been isolated and named daphnicaline, daphnicamine and daphnicadine.
