dl-Prostaglandin F_2α(Ⅹ) was synthesized from cyclopentadiene via a ten-step process.dl-Diol(Ⅱ_a) was epoxidized sterospecifically by peraoids to the dl-epozide(Ⅲ_a),the structure of whioh was established by oxidation to the known compound (ⅩⅤ).However,the diacetate(Ⅱ_b) reaoted with peracids to give a 1:1 mixture of cis-syn-cis and cis-anti-cis dl-isomers (Ⅲ_b) and (ⅩⅡ).
