Prostaglandin E1 methyl ester is synthesized from the common key intermediate Ⅰ with conjugated addition of Grignard reagent as a key step.The intermediate Ⅳ is stereoselectively reduced with sodium borohydride to give Ⅵ, which is converted to prostaglandin F1α methyl ester.
