Four crystalline compounds have boon isolated from the fruits of Schisandra henryi Clarke (Magnoliaceae) besides schisanhenol. Two of them have been identified as the known schisantherin B (1) and kadsuric acid (3),but the other two are new compounds, namely schisanhenrin (2) and schisanhenric acid (4).The structure of schisanhenrin (2, C28H34O9, m.p.88℃, [a]D23-27° in CHCl3) has been established as C7(R)-schisantherin B and its absolute configuration as biphenyl(S),C6(S),C7(R),C8 (S),based upon the comparison of its spectra with that of schisantherin B, the results of determination of nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE)(Tab.1) and the fact of formation of cyclic sulfite ester (2b) by reaction of 2a with thionyl chloride.
