Four components were isolated from Plumbago zeyanica Linn.According to spoctroscopio analyses (UV, IR, NMR, MS),preparation of derivatives and determination of physicochemical constants, throe of thorn wore identified as plumbagin,β-sitostcrol and vanillic acid.The fourth component was a new compound and named plumbagic acid, the structuro of which shall be dealt with elaowhero.
