The Chinese medicinal herb, Aristolochia tuberosa C. F. Liang et S. M. Huang (Aristolochiaceae), has been used for the treatment of sore throat, venomous snake bites and tuberculosis in folk medicine. Two new 4, 5-dioxoaporphine alkaloids, tuberosinone and tuberosinone-N-β-D-glucoside, isolated from the tubers of the plant were established as 3 and 4 by means of chemical and spectral analyses.
