Potentiometric stripping analysis (P. S. A.) was introduced by Jagner and Graneli in 1976, it is based on pre-concentration of the metal analyte by means of potentiostatic reduction and amalgamation on a glassy carbon electrode. After preconcentration the potentiostatic circuit is disconnected and the amalgamated metals are titrated consecutively either by mercury (II) ions (or other oxidizing agent) added to the sample before analyses, or by the dissolved oxygen present in the sample. The redox potential of the glassy carbon electrode is recorded on a high-impedance X-t recorder or on a pH motcure the time (\I\ elapsing between two consecutive equivalence poundts being taken as the analytical aignal for the element oxidized. In this paper the equations of P. S. A. are described. Those are \I\ = (Dm/d0)2/3 X (\o\1/\o\2)1/2 X (Cm+/C0)* X tp/m
