Characterization of \a\,\a,\-linked thiophene oligomers

Abstract

The mol. structures of the title compounds (d.p. 2-5) as model compounds for polythiophene (I) were characterized by elemental anal., mass spectrometry, and UV, IR, and NMR spectroscopy. Comparison of results obtained with neutral I prepared electrochem. confirmed that I had the same a,a'-linked chain structure as that of the model compounds
