Studies on organophosphorus compounds XVIII: Synthesis and reaction of \a\-sulfonyl phosphonates

Abstract

Treating RSO2Me (R = Me, Ph, 4-MeC6H4, 4-ClC6H4, 4-BrC6H4, 4-FC6H4) with BuLi and (EtO)2P(O)Cl in THF gave RSO2CH2P(O)(OEt)2 (I). I (R = Ph) was treated with benzaldehyde and cyclohexanone to give RSO2CH:CR1R2 [R1 = H, R2 = Ph; R1R2 = (CH2)5, resp.].
