The reaction of α,ω-bis(dimethylchlorosilyl)alkane with diamine

Abstract

Thirteen new a,w-bis(tetramethylazadisilacycloalkyl)alkanes and -phenylenes I [Z = (CH2)2, (CH2)3, (CH2)4, (CH2)6, p-C6H4; n = 2, 3, 4] were synthesized by the reaction of a,w-bis(dimethylchlorosilyl)alkane or -phenylene with diamine. The same products were produced by amine exchange of the corresponding monocyclic disilazane with diamine. The structures of these products were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, NMR, UV, and mass spectroscopy..
