Potentiometry was used to measure the overall stability constants of coordinate ions for the Sn(II)-Cl- system at 25?and ionic strength 3. The overall stability constants for stepwise reactions are log b1 = 1.202, log b2 = 1.288, log B3 = 2.369, log b4 = 1.968. The max. coordination no. was determine to be 4. The equilibrium concentration profile of coordinate ions for this system is also illustrated.
