Synthesis and crystal structure of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate cobalt complexes

Preparation and crystal structure of [(dipc)Co(m-4,4'-bpy)Co(dipc)].8H2O (1; H2dipc = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid; 4,4'-bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine) and [(dipc)Co(ImH)2]n (2), are reported. Crystal data: 1; monoclinic, space group P21/c with a 1.0614(5), b 2.0144(8), c 0.7342(2) nm, b 106.33(3)? Z = 2, R = 0.043; 2; orthorhombic, space group P212121 with a 0.9011(5), b 1.0078(1), c 1.6625(2) nm, Z = 4, R = 0.033. 1 Is formed with 4,4'-bpy as a bridging ligand. The 2 pyridine rings of the 4,4'-bpy are coplanar in the complex. In 2, 1 of O-C-O of dipc is coordinated to another Co(II), forming a chain structure. Two ImH ligands are located at axial positions with dihedral angle 44.4?
