Abstract

In this paper we studied the rearrangement of several C15-C16 single bond 14β-mesyloxy-ent-kauranoids (6, 7 and 8) in Zn-EtOH system. Compounds 6,7 and 8 were all rearranged in this system to a 6, 7, 5, 5 ring system compound 3, 12, 13a and 13b. In the rearrangement of 8, 8-OEt substituted compound 13b was obtained and this is may be an evidence of 8-C cation formation.
