The determination of proteins with tian yellow by resonance light scattering (RLS) technique was studied in the presence of ethanol. At pH = 4.1, a new method for the determination of proteins based on the enhancement of RLS has been developed. The linear ranges of the calibration graphs are 0.1～6.0 μg·mL~(-1) for bovine serum albumin (BSA), 0.1～5.0 μg·mL~(-1) for human serum albumin (HSA) and 0.2～3.0 μg·mL~(-1) for lysozyme, respectively. The corresponding determination limits are 12.7 ng·mL~(-1), 11.6 ng·mL~(-1) and 18.8 ng·mL~(-1), respectively. Synthetic samples and authentic samples were analyzed satisfactorily.
