Studies on the Interaction between Rare-earth Salts of Heteropoly EuHSiMo10W2O40· 25H2O and Bovine Serum Albumin

The rare-earth salts of heteropoly acid, EuHSiMo10W2O40·25H2O (EuW2), have been synthesized and characterized.The binding reaction between EuW2 and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated by fluorescence and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy.It is proved that the fluorescence quenching of BSA by EuW2 is a result of the formation of BSA-EuW2 complex.The binding site number n, apparent binding constant K and corresponding thermodynamic parameters were measured at different temperatures by fluorescence quenching method.The binding distance r between EuW2 and BSA was obtained according to Förster theory of non-radiation energy transfer.The effect of EuW2 on the conformation of BSA was analyzed using synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy.
