Using the solution reaction isoperibol calorimeter, the molar solution enthalpies of room temperature ionic liquid, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethyl sulfate (EMIES), with various molalities were determined at T=303.150 K in water. According to Pitzer's electrolyte solution theory, the molar solution enthalpy of EMIES at infinite dilution, ΔsHm0, and Pitzer's parameters: βMX(0)L, βMX(1)L and CMXФL were obtained. Then the values of apparent relative molar enthalpy ФL, and relative partial molar enthalpy of solvent and solute (EMIES), L1 and L2 were calculated, respectively.

Key words: room temperature ionic liquid, EMIES, solution enthalpy, apparent relative molar enthalpy, Pitzer’s parameter, isoperibol calorimeter
