Synthesis of Monodispersed ZnO Nanorod Array Films by Chemical Solution Deposition

Monodispersed and well-aligned ZnO nanorod arrays have been synthesized by chemical solution deposition on spin-coated and preheated ZnO sol films. The diameter of ZnO nanorods was controllable by adjusting the process of nano-ZnO film substrates. The morphology and crystalline structures of ZnO nanorods were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The room temperature photoluminescence spectrum of the as-prepared ZnO nanorod arrays exhibits a strong UV emission at about 384 nm and no defects related visible emissions.
