Special pretreatment of the titanium piece as the electrode substrate was taken. Using the continuous current law to deposit Pt and Fe, then through the high temperature heat treatment, the electrodes were prepared and characterized by scanning electronic microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy disperse spectroscope (EDS) as well as inductively coupled plasma (ICP). The electro-catalytic activity of the electrodes prepared for the electro-oxidation of coal slurry was measured in a two electrode system. Results indicated that, the surface of the electrodes prepared was of a laminated structure and peak shape, and the catalyst layer formed the high extent Pt-Fe alloy; the electrodes prepared enhanced the electrode electro-catalytic activity greatly and reduced the electrode cost compared to the platinum and Ti/TiO2Pt-Ru electrodes of the same area.
