The nanocomposite of Fe3O4 with silica as well as fluorescent dye was synthesized via a modified water-in-oil reverse microemulsion method in this paper. Thereafter, transmission electron microscopy, fluorescence spectrum method and super-paramagnetic experimental etc., were used to investigate the properties of these nanocomposites. The relating results showed that the introduction of PVP in the proposed synthesis system could greatly assistant the formation of well-dispersed Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the nanocomposites. Furthermore, interaction between the nanocomposites and bronze wares was investigated, and the related results showed that this multifunction nanocomposite can be real time, in-situ and non-destructive used to study the corrosion mechanism of bronze wares.

Key words: magnetic silica nanocomposite, reverse microemulsion, PVP, bronze wares
