Synthesis of the Second Generation Spiro Dendrimer Compounds of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12-Dodecahydrogen-2,2;6,6;10,10- tris[3,3-di(alkoxycarbonyl)-1,1-cyclobutylenedimethoxy]triphenylene

A series of spiro dendrimer compounds of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12-dodecahydrogen-2,2;6,6;10,10-tris[3,3-di(alkoxycarbonyl)-1,1-cyclobutylenedimethoxy]triphenylene were synthesized by using 1,4-cyclohexanedione, 2,2-bis(bromomethyl)-1,3-propylenediol, diethyl malonate, and poly-alcohols as starting materials via two one-pot reaction, in which the alkoxyl groups are isopentoxyl, tris(hydroxymethyl)methoxyl, 2,2-bis(bromomethyl)-3-hydroxypropyloxy, 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propyloxy, bis(hydroxymethyl) phosphinylmethoxy and N-{2-[bis(hydroxylmethyl)amino]ethyl}-N-hydroxymethylaminomethoxy. The dendrimer and intermediates were identified by IR, 1H NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. The factors to influence the reactions were discussed.
