The reactions between the antitumor agent (n-Bu)2SnCl2(phen)(phen= phenanthroline) and nucleotides result in the formation of mixed-ligand complexes formulated as (n-Bu)2Sn(phen)(Nu)Cl (where Nu is 5'-AMP, 5'-CMP and 5'-GMP), in which there is a monodentate coordination of Sn (Ⅳ) to oxygen atom of phosphate groups as characterized by 500MHZ ^1H, ^3^1P NMR and FT-IR. The possible structure of these complexes is proposed.
