Three ferrocene derivatives, D-Fc-R(1), D-Fe-A1(2) and [D-Fc-A2(3)N-C6H4-CH=CH, R : CH2OH, A1 : CHO, A2 : CH=C(CN)2], were designed and synthesized, and their electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical behaviors were studied. All these compouns show two redox processes. Both of the redox processes for 1 are reversible. The first wave of 2 is reversible and that of 3 is quasi-reversible when the electrode potential is scanned only in narrow range of the first wave. D-Fc^+-R and D-Fc^+-A1 show strong LMCT bands at 613 and 705nm respectively, suggesting that they might be good at redox switching of optical properties.
