In this paper 8 methodologies for carbon-carbon multiple bond formation have been described. (1)The synthetic utility of β- ketophosphonium salts. (2)"One-pot" carbon-carbon double bond formation. (3)A new method for ylide anion formation resulting from nucleophilic addition. (4)A new olefination methodology based on elimination of triphenylarsine. (5)Stereocontrolled synthesis of E or Z-alkenes. (6)A new olefination methodology based on the nucleophile attacking fluorinated phosphonates. (7)The reductive olefination methodology. (8)Fluorinated carbon-carbon triple bond formation.
