Simultaneous removal of NO and SO2 from simulated flue gas was achieved in a self-designed bubble-reactor using acid NaClO2 solution. Optimal condition and its corresponding removal efficiencies of NO and SO2 were obtained, and the reaction products were also analyzed. Based on the reaction products, reaction mechanism and total chemical reaction equations for simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification using acid sodium chlorite solution were deduced. Molar reaction enthalpy, molar formation Gibbs function, partial pressure of NO and SO2 and constant of reaction rate were calculated by thermodynamic methods. The calculation results show that the simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification are available, and the removal efficiencies are 100% nearly.
