Fulvia acid extracted from weathered coal (Tnlnfan, Xinjiang) was methylated with CH2N2 and was then fractionated. The higher molecular weight fractions G6-G12(M-663-6601) were oxidatively degraded.with KMnO4, The degradation products thus obtained were again methylatsd and were then separated into 24 components by G0, 17 of which were identified as the same compounds which had been separated from the low molecular weight fractions as reported previously. The other identified compounds are 1, 2, 3-benzene-trioarboxylic acid, 1, 2, 3, 4-benzene-tetraoarbogylio acid, isophthalia acid, terephthalio said, as well as a small amount of n-G18H38, G19H38 and 10-methyl-nonadecanoio acid.Differing from fulvio and humio acids from other origins, the fulvia acid now studied.has very remarkable aromatic struatural characteristics.
