Sixteen derivatives and analogs of piperitone were synthesized, and, together with four selected commercial drugs and reagents, were subjected to pharmacological screening in respect to their antispasmodic activity.Preliminary clinical observations show that racemio 1, 1'-bisisomenthone is quite effective against bronchospasmodic asthma.The correlation of chemical structure with antispasmodio activity was studied.
