Small amount of dioxane is distributed between benzene and aqueous salt solutions at 25℃ and the concentration of dioxane in aqueous phase is determined by means of an interferometer.The salts used are sodium chloride,sodium acetate,sodium n-butyrate,sodium benzoate,sodium benzene sulphonate,tetramethylammonium bromide,tetraethyl-ammonium bromide,and piperidine hydrochloride,most of which possess one kind of largeion.
