The reaction of diphenylacetylene with σ-triphenyl-chromium tetrahydrofuranate in tetrahydrofuran gave a series of aromatic compounds:1,2,3,4-tetraphenylnaphthalene,hexaphenylbenzene,9,10-diphenylphenanthrene,tetraphenylethylene,and p-terphenyl,among which only the former two out in ether gave the same have been reported by zeiss et al.The same reaction carried products.
